So now here we stand
As you look in the distance
Our hands, they cannot touch

I'll just resubmerge that pearl you found

It will see the sun again
Watch the rays reflect the scars from the coarse ocean sand
Lose my grip; watch them fall

I can't help it if I'm nothing but a history of feelings
Nothing but a love we can't hold close
You are nothing but a love I cannot hold

But hey, this is nothing but a fall from a mountain cliff
Nothing I can do but sink or swim
With open palms, the sand grains fall

It's me against the world
As you look in the distance my silhouette it fades
