Fairytale Grim

Sweat-drenched - ringing through her head
Are the screams she let out and her heart goes
Thump thump and the voices they whisper tell her to go
Search for that whom she conjoured up

They left her to die they left her for dead
But someone will save her she knows somebody close
Which direction to go only the trees know
Before she reached well she will not stop

So she walked and she walked but she found no one where
She was told she was told they had her soul ripped bare
T'was no glorious affair
This little nightmare

Sore was her feet they could not go on
No longer believing in the dialogue in her head no more
Doubt hung and rained on her
Tear-drenched, she was lost

Like all the meaning she felt right had slipped from her mind
She tripped

So she fell and she fell and she shut her eyes
Was this the end of it all, was she to die
She relaxed with a sigh
Waiting for the pain to arrive

She was caught -
Took a peek
Could this be
A hand touched a cheek to confirm what she could see
Too shy to say hi, they only stared

So they hugged and embraced
Nothing to be said
They kissed and they smiled
Their day had been made
Unnoticed was the trickle of red
Flowing down her head
