Seriously, the internet is screwing with my head. Everything was fine and dandy, then suddenly I couldn’t access my domains. Specifically my domains on my computer on my home internet. All three have to happen at the same time for the error to happen, but unfortunately that is the situation 95% of the time that I actually want to access them. Hours after hours of research and trying to fix it, nothing works.

Then suddenly it was okay. It became another website that I couldn’t access, but I didn’t really give a shit about it.

Then my brother changed our router, and it was back to square one. I went a bit crazy with that. Another round of research, trying EVERYTHING I could think of, emailing my domains’ host (same host) but they didn’t give a shit (I’m so switching after this one expires), and nothing.

Then today it became okay again. I can blog at home. Hello, blog. I don’t know what shit happened but it better stay this way.

I’m too sleepy and piled up with work to have any humour in this post – I do admit it is quite funny, at my own expense. I will blog again, after I’m finished with next week. Next week is shit week!

… Even my vocabulary of rude words doesn’t amount to much right now.

Today I was served some coffee, and it had a distinctive taste in it. For a moment I thought I’d finally developed a palate that could discern between different coffees, and that I was on my way to becoming a coffee guru. A quick google brought me back to reality, and told me that the distinctive taste was actually just sourness.

You got that right, sour coffee. In a nutshell Google says it’s from using too little water to extract the coffee. You’ve been warned! It doesn’t taste good. Bleargh.

Anyway, here is a photo of Rocky taken on the night of 18th October:

And this was on the morning of 19th October:

Yes, it’s a leaf and a strand of bee hoon! I have absolutely no idea how they found their way there!

I’m sitting at a coffee joint working my way into getting certified for the kind of professional hire that I’m not interested in. A lady and a middle-aged man come in, order their coffees and sit down at the table beside mine.

They start discussing work. I think it’s nice to be able to discuss work over $5 coffees, especially if it’s covered by the company. My $5 coffee is covered by the accumulation of change in the pockets of my shorts and jeans.

They begin talking about specific staff in their company. You can tell they’re quite high up in the management food chain. “She’s okay, I think after she fired so-and-so she’s seemed to change. She’s become more motivating for the department and it’s a lot better than before.”

“I don’t understand why you put him in charge of whatever-whatever-is. There are more qualified people to handle this-company.” “It’s logical, I look at the relationships then I assign tasks. He’s got a relationship with this-company, so naturally I put him there since he can talk to them more easily.”

“I think so-and-so has been this-and-that recently, and she’s been handling blah-blah-blah in a very [adjective] manner. It’s quite [affect] for the company and we need to [action] and try to [goal].”

A pack of dogs talking about a pack of dogs.

It’s funny how we say that. Sometimes moments are like that; an injured bird you’ve nursed back to health, and the rapturous instant when you cup the little fella between both hands, walk out to the garden and release it back into the sky. Moments like these have their own time and place, and they become memories that produce nostalgic smiles.

Then there are the times when you think of a moment, go into nostalgia mode, say to yourself, “Those were the days…” and suddenly you realize there is no reason for you to make it past tense. You start wondering why it’s not happening anymore, that the reason why you haven’t been cooking is because there is no gas and you haven’t called the gas man to change the gas tank but the only way to do that is if you plugged the telephone cord back into the telephone.

Then there are the times you realize there is no reason for you to make it past tense, but it has to stay past tense because some moments are between more than just you and yourself, and that it takes two to get the telephone working again. I can plug it in, but if you don’t want to tell me the number for the gas man I cannot cook.

And that is when you think, “Those were the days,” with a wistful smile tinted with sadness.

In other news, my dog is very cute.
